In order for the GeoPress grinder to run, these conditions must be met:
- Mug is fully seated below the grinder
- A GeoTube is waiting in the Fill position (below the plunger)
- GeoPress light is green
If the grinder does not run while trying to blend a sample, the sample can be reloaded by following these steps
- Remove mug with un-blended cores
- Open grinder door
- Dump cores back into grinder door
- Reinsert mug back under the grinder
- Ensure LED light is green, and close the grinder door
If the grinder will not turn on, or runs erratically, here are a few things to check
- Ensure that the mug is fully seated below the grinder
- It is possible that the mug appears to be fully inserted, but is slightly misaligned from the mug sensor located behind the grinder
- Try removing the mug, and reinserting it while ensuring it is fully seated in the retaining clip and centered against the back of the grinder
- The LED light will turn green once the grinder is ready to run
- Check to see if there is a GeoTube ready and waiting at the Fill position
- The grinder will not run unless a GeoTube is ready to fill. This feature prevents the user from dumping a blended sample into the funnel without having a GeoTube in place, thus wasting the sample.
- If a GeoTube is not in the fill position, check if the GeoPress is in the process of loading a tube, or if the GeoPress is out of tubes, or if a jam has occurred and prevented a tube from being loaded
- Once a GeoTube is in the fill position, it may take a couple of seconds before the grinder is ready to run. Wait until the LED light is green before closing the grinder door to start blending.
- If the grinder is running erratically, make sure the grinder door is properly shimmed.
- The grinder door should be shimmed on the left side so that the door sits firmly against the sensor on the right. Without these shims, the grinder may not consistently sense that the door is closed.
