The Radicle App for iOS and Android has the ability to write data to the GeoTube tag. This can be used when hand-stuffing a sample, or changing the data on the GeoTube tag without having to run it back through the GeoPress. This can only be done using the Radicle App for phones, as tablets do not have RFID reading or writing capabilities.
- Open the Radicle App menu in the upper left corner and go to the Manage GeoTubes page
- Press Write to GeoTube on the Manage GeoTubes page
- Use the field dropdown menu to select a field you would like to write the GeoTube to. The field and sampling activity must be created before selecting them on this page. Use the search bar at the top of the window to search for fields, if needed.
- Once the field is selected, chose the sampling activity
- There are three options for the Scan to section
- Select on Map: Allows you to select a location on the map to write the GeoTube to
- Current Location: Uses the location of the device to scan to the GeoTube
- Custom Coordinates: Use specific Lat/Long location entered in decimal form
- Once a Scan to selection is made, press the orange button on the button of the page to proceed
- If Current Location was selected, simply scan the GeoTube with the top left corner of your phone and the sample will be written with your device's location, and will be associated with the closest target point or zone (if applicable).
- If Select Location was selected, the map will appear and allow you to tap a location on the map to use for the location. After selecting a location, the Ready to Scan pop up will appear. Place the top left corner of your phone next to the RFID tag on the bottom of the tube. A blue check mark will appear when it is successfully written.
- If Custom Coordinates is selected, enter the lat/long coordinates in decimal form and press the orange button to proceed to scanning.
- Continually scan more samples using the same field, activity, and location settings by pressing the orange button after each sample is scanned
