The Radicle App for iOS has the ability to write data to the GeoTube tag. This can be used when hand-stuffing a sample, or changing the data on the GeoTube tag without having to run it back through the GeoPress. This can only be done using the Radicle App for iPhone, as iPads do not have RFID reading or writing capabilities.
There is also a GeoTube reading feature that simply reads and displays the data on the GeoTube tag. For those instructions, reference Reading GeoTubes with Radicle phone app
- Go to the Maps page and open the field that you would like to scan samples to.
- Open the Menu in the upper left corner of the screen, then select Scan GeoTube.
- The field and job under the New GeoTube Settings should match the field and job that you opened on the map.
- You can also select a new field or job by using the dropdown menus
- There are two options for the Scan to section
- Select Location: Allows you to select a location on the map to write the GeoTube to
- Current Location: Uses the location of the device to scan to the GeoTube
- Next, press Write at the bottom of the page.
- If Current Location was selected, simply scan the GeoTube with the top left corner of your phone and the sample will be written with your device's location, and will be associated with the closest target point or zone (if applicable).
- If Select Location was selected, the map will appear and allow you to tap a location on the map to use for the location. After selecting a location, press Add to confirm the location, then scan the GeoTube with the top left corner of your phone.
- A message will appear showing that the tag was written successfully.
- If you see a failed message, repeat step 6 with the same GeoTube.
- You can validate that the GeoTube was written successfully by using the Read feature on the phone scanning menu (see link to instructions above)
