GeoPress Lite Operation Video
Plug the GeoPress Lite into power, the LED light on the front will flash briefly and you will hear an audible beep
Wait for the LED light on the front of the GeoPress Lite to start flashing yellow
Once the light is flashing, open the Radicle App and open the GeoPress window in the upper right corner of the Maps page
On the GeoPress window, press the Connect button and click on the available GeoPress in the device list.
Note: If your GeoPress does not initially show up on the device list, click off of the device list window and try clicking Connect again
Once connected, the text at the top of the GeoPress window will show connected, and the LED light on the GeoPress Lite will be solid yellow if there is not a GeoTube loaded in the press. If there is a GeoTube loaded and in the fill position, the LED light will be blue.
Push the loader handle down to slide the GeoTube holder out. Then remove the cap from the GeoTube using the tube opener on the side of the press. Do this by sliding the GeoTube cap into the opener, then push down or to the side to pull the tube off of the cap.
Next, place the empty GeoTube in the tube holder and push the loading handle up to slide the tube into the filling position. The LED light will turn to a solid blue state, meaning the RFID scanner can see the tag on the bottom of the GeoTube.
After collecting your soil cores, open the mixer door and pour the cores into the door
To mix the soil cores, press and hold the green button on the side of the mixer and close the mixer door at the same time. Once you hear that the soil has made it's way through the mixer, release the green button.
Next, remove the mug from the mixer and pour the mixed soil into the funnel on the GeoPress Lite until it reaches the bottom of the plunger. Keep the remaining soil in the mug in case additional soil is needed after the initial plunge.
Pull down on the plunger handle to press the soil into the GeoTube. The GeoPress will trigger to write data to the sample tag if enough soil is present. When the tag writing is triggered, you will hear an audible buzz sound, and the LED light will alternate between off and green. If there was not enough soil in the initial plunge, pour in more soil from the mixer mug and plunge again.
When the sample tag writing has completed, the LED light will be solid green and you should see a blue collection point at your location on the map.
After you see a solid green light, pull down on the tube loader handle to slide the GeoTube out from the fill location. Then slide the cap up and out of the cap remover and snap it back on top of the fill GeoTube.
IMPORTANT: Before loading a new GeoTube into the GeoPress, push down on the plunger handle to plunge out the excess soil from the previous sample.
Repeat the steps above for the next sample
