Step 1: Remove Silver Alignment Plate
Remove the silver alignment plate attached to the ratio chamber using a T30 driver (or an equivalent-size L-key)
Step 2: Power On the Lab
Turn the red E-stop button on the left side of the lab clockwise to release the E-stop switch and power on the lab.
Step 3: Connect to Internet and Log in
- Confirm the display screen is on and showing the overview screen.
- Select the second-to-last icon to connect to WiFi.
- Select the bottom icon on the left navigation bar to log in using radicle app credentials

Note: The lab needs to be connected in order to be to view diagnostics remotely

Step 4: Verify Startup Completed Successfully
Display screen
- On initial startup the screen will be gray and progress through: Initializing → Homing Motors → Temperature → Idle. At Idle, the display overview screen and outer LED status indicator lights turn green.

Motors- See Radicle Lab Front Side photo below for location of motors
- Confirm the following motors located on the front side of the lab are on and flashing green.
NOTE: Lab will not complete initial startup if Motor lights are not on/ or motors are not communicating
Modules- See Radicle Lab Front/Back side and Chamber photo for location of modules
- Front side: 4 modules to the left of the unloader — 1 blinking green (RIO module), 3 blinking red (daughter board). See lab front side photo below for reference
- Factory side:
- Phosphorous, Microglow, and Nitrate analytes: 2 modules each — 1 blinking green (RIO module), 1 blinking red (daughter board).

pH analyte: 1 module blinking green (RIO module).
Note: All RIO and Daughter board module locations are consistent in each chamber (Upper left and middle left). See Radicle Lab Chamber photo below for reference
LEDs
- Front side: 3 LED strips on.
- 1 between elevator and transfer area
- 1 to the left side of the ratio chamber
- 1 to the left side of power box
- Factory side:
- Phosphorous Chamber (left box): 3 LEDs
- pH Chamber (middle-left box): 3 LEDs
- Microglow Chamber (middle-right box): 2 LEDs
- Nitrate Chamber (right box): 3 LEDs

Chemical shelf: 1 LED above shelf

Step 5: Turn On Water Valves
Turn on all water valves except the very bottom one. See Radicle Lab Front Side photo above for reference
Step 6: Check Diagnostics
- Go to the display screen → navigation menu (left side) → 4th icon "Diagnostics page"

Air pressure: Confirm air pressure is within the appropriate threshold. If it's not within range after the lab has run for 5–10 minutes, adjust the desired air pressure using the air regulator(s) underneath and to the left of the power box (turn clockwise-increase psi, counterclockwise- decrease psi).
- Note: The air regulator below power box adjusts: 100 psi, 60 psi, 20 psi, & 8 psi.
- Note: Vacuum pressure (-8 psi) is adjusted using the knob that is located directly underneath the power box

Water pressure: After turning on the water valves, allow up to 20 minutes for water tanks to fill and pressure to stabilize.
- RO filtration: 80-90 psi (when filtration pump is on)
- Low pressure: 25-40 psi
- High pressure: 40-60 psi

Temperature: If temperature goes out of range after reaching Idle/green, the lab will turn red and enter a fault state — this commonly resolves on its own. The display screen "Diagnostics" page will indicate which value is out of range.
NOTE: The lab may take several hours to reach temperature on initial startup. Roll down the lab doors to help the enclosures warm up faster. -
Water cleanliness:

DI resistivity: Should read above 150Ω. Below 150Ω, you'll be notified of low DI water quality. Below 100Ω, the lab will fault and the DI filter will need to be changed (see the DI Filter Change article in the Lab Maintenance section of the Radicle support page).
- If DI water quality is below 150Ω, go to the display screen → navigation menu (left side) → 2nd icon "Action page" →go to "Clean Panel" (right side)→ press "DI Flush" to see if this raises the value prior to swapping the filter.

RO resistivity: A reading below 10Ω may indicate the RO filters need to be replaced. Severely low RO resistivity will also degrade DI filter performance, requiring more frequent DI filter changes.
- If RO value is still showing low value after filter replacement, please reach out to product support for further diagnostics
- Note: RO filters should be changed once a year
