1. Uncrate Radicle Lab
A T30 Torx driver bit is included in the 784910 installation kit to remove the crate screws. Remove the crate panels starting with the top, followed up the shorter sides, then ending with the longer sides. Once the panels are removed, remove the lower mounting brackets from all four corners of the lab and staging system. When forking the systems out of the base of the crate, place forks in the designated areas indicated by the forklift symbols.
2. Connect Utilities
Connect the lab utilities into their respective locations on the bulkhead connections on the right side of the lab. Provided elbow adapters for the water supply and slurry waste can be used, if necessary, but are not required.
Details are provided in the following article: Connecting Utilities

3. Power on Radicle Lab
Turn the red E-stop button on the left side of the lab clockwise to release the E-stop switch. After initializing, the lab will boot up and the LED lights inside the lab and analysis cabinets will turn on.
The following article details several critical steps, including:
- Removing Ratio Chamber Alignment plate
- Logging in via the lab display
- Verifying successful startup
The lab display should show green, idle, and connected to the internet when the lab has successfully started up.
4. Attach Sample Rack
The soil sample rack attaches to the front-right side of the Radicle Lab. Align the front face of the lab with the front face of the rack by adjusting the screw on the rear of the rack. Alignment is important to allow the elevator to load tubes from the rack.
See the following article for details and pictures. Installing the Sample Tubes Rack
5. Install ISE Storage Solution and Fill Reservoir
If you have not already done so, take a moment to download the radicle app on your phone or tablet. A mobile device with the Radicle App installed is required for the chemical bottle installation procedure.
The ISE Reservoir must be filled before calibration. The easiest way to do this is to start by installing only the ISE Storage solution (Bottle #13) and complete the prime and fill process for it before installing, priming, and calibrating the rest of the chemicals.
On the lab page on the app, open the Chemical, select #13 ISE Storage, then Install New Chemicals. On the next page, press the Tap to Scan Full Bottle button to open the device’s camera, and scan the QR code on the bottle. Once scanned, match the number on the bottle to the number on the draw straw, and attach the cap and draw straw assembly to the bottle. Press Continue on the Prime and Calibration summary page. Wait 5-10 minutes for the lab to prime the solution and return to the Idle state.
When the lab is finished priming and idle, navigate to the lab control page and select the Lab Install: Fill ISE Reservoir button. The lab will change to a “Waiting for Cleaning” state during the filling process. Once the reservoir is filled, a pop-up will display instructing to press the clear button top of the ISE reservoir to prime the probe with solution. Once the button is pressed, click the OK button to complete.
6. Install all other Chemicals
After the ISE Reservoir is filled, go to the lab page on the app, open the Chemical, then press Select All, then find 13 ISE Storage and un-select that box since it's already installed. Select Install New Chemicals. On the next page, press the Tap to Scan Full Bottle button to open the device’s camera, and scan the QR code on the bottle. Once scanned, match the number on the bottle to the number on the draw straw, and attach the cap and draw straw assembly to the bottle and repeat for the rest of the bottles.
Once all bottles are scanned and installed, press Continue on the prime and calibration summary page. This will automatically start the priming and calibration process with each bottle. The initial calibration will take approximately 1.5 hours.
If any calibrations fail, contact Product Support.
7. Calibrate Ratio Chamber
Confirm the ratio chamber alignment tool has been removed.
Navigate to the Labs page on the app or web, then Calibrate. Scroll down and toggle on Ratio Calibration, then press Calibrate in the bottom right corner.
The ratio calibration should take 15-20 minutes. Avoid touching the ratio chamber during calibration or operation or it will need to be recalibrated.
8. Press Play
Press the play button on either the lab display screen or on the Radicle App, and then OK on the lab queue window. This will automatically start a health check as a final checkout of the soil preparation and analysis systems. Once the health check is complete it will show a Pass or Fail of each item. If samples are loaded on the sample rack, the lab will continue and start processing the samples. It is recommended to run several test samples through the lab before running production samples. If any of the health checks fail, notify product support.
